So here's where our story begins, I was admitted to UAB on 12-19 for complications from pre-eclampsia ( high bp and can cause the baby to go into distress) and I was monitored for my other medical conditions that could affect us both. We spent Christmas in the hospital waiting on our little miracle. After 2 LONG weeks in the anit-partum unit, it was time, Landon was to term @ 37 weeks and the MFM DR.'s determined that it was safe now to enduce. Labor took all day from 9am 12-29 to 12:04am 12-30. I had two epidurals, the 1st failed, 2nd worked great! Felt no pain and only pushed for 20mins! If I could be promised a delivery like this every time, we would have a house full of young'uns!
Landon was born @ 12:04 am December 30th 2008 weighing in at 6lb 13oz and 19 3/4 in long. He had some gurggling in his lungs so he spent the early morning hours in the NICU, but was quickly released to the healthy baby nursery. He spent the whole day meeting his new family and bonding with his mommy and dada. The following morning we got some news, his billiruben was high (jaundice) he immediately placed under the lights and spent an extra day. I was released on the 1st and Jospeh and I were both heartbroken to leave our baby, even if it was over night. We brought little Landon home on January the 2nd and he is thriving! Such a joy! Joseph and I have truly been blessed.
